The Story Behind Cinna Stop

From the High Seas to the Heart of the Kitchen

For more than 20 years, the sea has been my life. My journey began when I joined the Navy as a teenager and instantly fell in love with the ocean. After leaving the Navy, I continued my path as a professional mariner, starting out as an Ordinary Seaman on a supply boat in the Gulf. The work was tough, exciting, and full of challenges—and I loved every minute of it.
Over the years, I worked my way up, teaching myself everything I needed to pass the U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate exam, then learning Celestial Navigation to earn my Oceans endorsement. I advanced through the bridge quickly, eventually earning my Second Mate's license and Master's license. My career has taken me around the world several times and to incredible places across multiple continents.
But every journey eventually leads home.

A Legacy of Flavor

The inspiration for Cinna Stop actually started long before my life at sea—back in my mom’s kitchen. She made the softest, fluffiest cinnamon rolls you could imagine. I loved them so much as a young boy that I used to take several to school and sell them to my friends for $2 each. My plan was simple: if they were gone, Mom would make more. When she found out, she wasn’t too happy… but everyone agreed on one thing—her cinnamon rolls were unforgettable.

That warm, soft bread with buttery cinnamon sugar melting in the middle and sweet icing running down the sides is still one of my favorite memories.
